What, do you think, comes to mind of Japanese people when they hear the name of Mito? That is Mito Komon, the name of the real existed Samurai lord of Mito. He was written as the main character of a story aired to be the most popular longest hit TV Samurai drama. It lasted 42 years (1969-2011)!
The story: Mito Komon, after retirement, travels around Japan with two subordinates, finds evildoers, mostly a corrupt bailiff and bad guys, annoying local people. Komon corrects injustice and solves the problem. Happy ending with “Right is might” at the period of “Might is right.” On this tour, you explore the birthplace of Mito Komon story. Local guide explains the history and the spirit of righting wrongs respected and succeeded by Japanese people.
