  • It was an unforgettable adventure that left us with beautiful memories. We won't mind doing it again to experience the pass during a different season. The trip boasts views of the majestic mountains, and the view from the top is something that one will remember forever. We even got to play in the snow. We also had a delightful experience where we got to meet members of a village in Lesotho and have some homemade bread. Our experienced driver Mbongeni was such delight and shared his knowledge about the area's geography and history. We always felt that we were in good and safe hands. Lana was also very helpful with the booking and advice beforehand.
  • Well worth it! Loved the trip and the guide was fantastic. Exceeded all my expectations. Loved the scenic route and guide was very informative.
  • Was a bit of a wobbly start- weren't aware of the booking, but that could actually be a TripAdvisor problem, maybe TripAdvisor should look into confirming with client the wat AirBNB do. Once we got started, it was just a thoroughly excellent experience. Marting the guide was so great and had so much knowledge and a great sense of humour. Really just made the day a lot of fun. The trip up the pass is rough but wasn't uncomfortable, and the views are quite literally breathtaking, although that might be the altitude also. Just remember to print your covid stuff. Makes life easier. The stop at Siphiwe to give us some info on Lesotho and the area was a really great time. He is a really knowledgeable and nice man. Doing The Lords work in the area. Stopping at the highest pub for lunch was a treat. Very nice place, friendly staff, interesting and decent food. In general would highly recommend the tour as a whole.
  • Martin was an excellent guide who made us feel safe! Well organised and a good itinerary. Would definitely recommend this outing to the highest pub on Africa with the largest selection of alcoholic beverages I have ever seen!
  • The tour left on time, and it was in a comfortable vehicle with an experienced driver who also has a great sense of humour! The Covid test and border control went by smoothly and the views were breathtaking. The driver was very knowledgeable and had great insight into both South African and Lesotho history! The visit to the little village was good although I was expecting a bit more excitement from the other travellers and host. We managed to buy a little souvenir and then had lunch at the highest pub in Africa. We enjoyed the experience and it’s great value for money. Definitely recommend!
  • I really enjoyed every moment of the Sani Pass Day Tour! Our guide and driver, Martin, was excellent at navigating the tough route up the pass and he was very informative. We stopped plenty of times to admire the spectacular views. The Covid test and crossing of the border was a seamless process. Our lunch at the Highest Pub in Africa was of course also a big highlight. I will definitely recommend doing this tour in order to just sit back and enjoy the scenery, instead of doing a self-drive. Thanks for a great day out Martin! Tip: Take a warm jacket with, as the wind at the top was extremely strong!!
  • What an awesome experience. Passport control was a breeze and it was an eye-opening experience to see how the people in Lesotho live. The visit to the highest pub in Africa is something never to be forgotten. The guide who took us on the tour was well-informed and a superb driver. This is the kind of stuff memories are made of.
  • A well organised and informative tour, with a knowlegable and competent driver. We had plenty of opportunities to take photos and enjoyed ourselves.
  • My husband and I loved our day trip up the Sani Pass and into Lesotho. Our guide Wilson was very professional, he would stop the car regularly to enable us to take photos of the breath-taking views, he knew a lot about flowers/nature, and most of all he is an excellent driver! When we arrived in Lesotho, he took us to a village and we sat down to learn about the country and its relationships with South Africa, which was very interesting. We highly recommend this day trip if you are in the Southern Drakensberg region. Thanks a lot, Wilson!
  • The worst day of my life We booked this tour as a celebration of my birthday during our visit to South Africa. I asked the company in advance about the visa requirements at the Lesotho border as I am a holder of UAE passport and they assured me that I don’t need a visa. After 3 hours journey in a bumpy 4x4 trip we arrived at the Lesotho border. We were denied entry into the country because we apparently needed a visa. The driver left me and my family (wife and two children aged 11 and 9) in the middle of the road at the border for 2 hours. This company wants only to make money without a regards to the basic human needs for the tourists. Shame on you treating us like this just for the money! Management never apologized and refused to refund our money
  • This was an experience that I recommend to everyone who is able to sit in a 4-wheel drive bouncing over a rocky road (occasionally one of our drivers would stop to move a too-big rock) for a good 2 hours of the 3 that it takes to wend your way up the switchbacks to the highest point in South Africa. It’s a perfect experience of old Africa - unusual border crossings from South Africa into the Kingdom of Lesotho, an introduction to Lesotho tribal life, and then a lovely lunch at the highest pub in SA. One moment we meet people who make more money herding than if they went to school; the next moment, we’re paying with Viss cards, and they are holding the machines up to attracts signal! Our driver, Wilson was a Zulu with the eyesight of an eagle and the kindness of his people. He returned an iPad left behind by one of our tired travelers the next morning. Thanks, Wilson! You can’t go wrong taking this tour. The views are spectacular.
  • We sat in a 4 x 4 with 10 + driver. The pass is not accessible for normal cars. Our guide was very nice his name was Wilson. Knew a lot about the animals. During our trip we had some snow so we had a unique experience. When we arrived on top there was snow on the peaks. The nature is amazing during the ride. When on top they showed us a little hut and told us it was used by the natives. It was a bit touristy. Its really worth the trip!
  • The road up to Lesotho is very narrow and bumpy with many switch backs. It can only be done with a 4 by 4 vehicle but the scenery is amazing. After we cleared customs at the top we visited a small village and were treated to some delicious homemade bread. Then we had lunch and a drink at the highest pub in Africa before heading back down to Underberg.
  • We had an amazing experience, the climb up Sani Pass was exciting, our guide Sfiso was great, very knowledgeable and friendly. Our lunch at "The highest pub in Africa" was delicious too.
  • The tour was so great! Got picked up at the hotel and had the best tourguide ever. He told so much about the country & the sanipass. He answered all of our questions. We saw so much animals, we saw rockhoppers, a rock dassie, a vulture, an eland, baboons, donkeys, cows, sheeps and goats! Thank you Wilson for the great tour and your excellent driving!
  • Our driver was a fantastic driver, manoeuvring over the off-road track with ease. He had a great knowledge of the local history and ensured we stopped to get loads of great photographs. We was also able to buy a pack of goodies to give to the kids in Lesotho which was a really nice touch. We stopped at the restaurant on the way back which served good food and I would recommend the mountain sausage trio or the chicken curry. The car is a bit crowded if full so would advise wearing lose comfy clothing. All in all, a really great day out!
  • What a life time experience. I would love to do it again. We enjoyed ourselves with our partners and best tour guide Mr Mxolisi
  • I would highly recommend this company if you are looking for a professional and informative trip into Lesotho. The guides are responsible, the vehicles all look fairly new and all in all it was a great day excursion.
  • My family did the all-day Sani Pass tour today and it was fantastic. The details are exactly as promised and described in other reviews: relaxed drive up the road with as many photo-op stops as desired, village visit, and lunch stop at the pub (not included), plus all border formalities. Our guide was brilliant, asked us what our preferences were in terms of stops (birds? animals? scenery?), and patiently obliged and stopped everywhere we asked. He was a wealth of interesting knowledge and kept the teenagers entertained.Spoke excellent English and had a great sense of humor. But what really made the day memorable was their customer service. On our morning drive to Underberg we unfortunately ran into a road closure due to some demonstrations. SPT helped us figure out how to detour around the trouble and converted our booking into a private tour that left 2 hours later when we finally managed to arrive. And the tour was not abridged in any way and ended at dusk, after 6pm. The owners even researched the road closures for us to ensure we could make it back safely. We could not recommend SPT any more highly - thanks for a wonderful day!
  • Annual event to visit Sani Pass with our Tour groups with your company. Wilson did an excellent job once again, he is such a reliable driver and very knowledgeable. Thank you Wilson, continue the good work!
  • We loved the Tour, our guide was amazing and well informed, he gave us a lot of opportunity to take as much photos as we wanted. the quick tour through the village was nice and informative. damn but it was cold, remember to take something warm (the weather is a lot colder up there)
  • Sani Pass is really awesome. If you are thinking of taking your own vehicle up there then consider how much you value it. There are some really difficult passages. This trip was definitely the highlight of the stay in the South Drakensberg. Selby was an excellent, friendly driver with a lot of knowledge. A really worthwhile day.
  • Took the tour recently Feb 19 - with driver Wilson - I recommend both the driver and the tour. Exciting is simply not strong enough - the road is not built yet but Wilson managed to get us up there and back - we visited the highest Pub in Africa and had a great lunch, I can recommend the penne carbonara. Went into Lesotho and met some of the villagers and learned a bit about their life. Exhausted when we got back but well worth the trip.
  • Amazing landscape before arriving at Lesotho. We felt very secure in the SUV conducted by Wilson. The trip unfortunately included only a short step into Lesotho behind the frontier.
