Stop At: Colosseum, Piazza del Colosseo, 00184 Rome Italy

Your journey into antiquity begins with the Colosseum, one of the world’s most iconic sights. Your guide will call on their historical and archaeological expertise to tell you all about the battles, both physical and political, that played out in this incredible amphitheater. You might be surprised to learn that ‘Gladiator’ didn’t get everything right and that feats of ancient engineering even allowed the Romans to re-enact naval battles here.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Palatine Hill, Piazza Santa Maria Nova, 53, 00186 Rome Italy

The next stop takes you back to the very beginning. The Palatine Hill is the spot Romulus chose to found the city that would become Rome in 753 BC – a decision that ended in tragedy for his brother Remus. Here, steeped in history, you’ll enjoy spectacular views overlooking your next destination: the Roman Forum.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Roman Forum, Largo della Salara Vecchia 5/6, 00186 Rome Italy

The Forum and the Via Sacra, the Sacred Way, were the heart of Ancient Rome. All of Roman life could be found in this bustling marketplace: commerce and trade, political rallies, military parades, and the sacred ceremonies of the Vestal Virgins.

In just three hours, you’ll experience all that allowed Rome to endure so long – staying immersed in history the entire time, without wasting a moment waiting in line.

Duration: 30 minutes

  • Excellent tour - Simone was a excellent guide. This was my family's 1st time in Rome and my daughters 21st birthday. He made it a truly memorable experience! Thank you so much!
  • The Colosseum & Roman Forum is definitely a must visit! Great to explore these ancient ruins and learn a little history.
  • The tour guide Patrick was excellent very knowledgeable and very approachable with questions. Absolutely recommend this tour , ask for Patrick. Bert Buckley Ontario, Canada
  • I'm so glad I decided to book this tour. It was all seemless and took the effort out of what could have been quite a confusing experience. Instead of trying to work out what to do, where to be, how to navigate the endless pass and security checks, our guide breezed us through the process while educating us along the way, for 3hrs! Well done and thank you!
  • This tour was incredible and very worth it. Meeting point was easy to find and the radios really helped everyone hear what the guide had to say. Maria Luisa was an AMAZING tour guide! She had several pictures to showcase and give context to the historical facts she was sharing, and was incredibly knowledgeable and a great storyteller. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rome. Thank you so much!
  • Informative tour guide Julia took her time explaining everything and not rushing the tour. Very fun, highly recommended.
  • Absolutely 10/10 guided tour. Our tour guide, Ambera, was incredible and taught us so much! Definitely recommend getting Ambera for this tour - she is hilarious and so knowledgeable. The access to the sights is also great. Thanks
  • My wife and I had a wonderful tour guide (thanks Silvia Rana!), Silvia is an Italian archaeologist, very knowledgeable about these sites and very passionate about history. She is super friendly and was happy to answer any questions we could think off. I would definitely recommend doing this tour with Silvia.
  • The best city tour i've ever taken. It was in a golf cart! I wanted to see the sights but have trouble walking. So our hotel fixed us up with "My Best Tour" and guide Mimmo Bandar. We went all over the city and saw all the amazing sites, normal except we did it in a GOLF CART! This company uses golf carts and evades most of the awful traffic and Mimmo was a terrific guide...we could stop anywhere we wanted and he told us about the buildings or ruins and wherever we wanted to get out and see something up close, he parked and out we went. Always with new information not in the guide books. He has encyclopedic knowledge and was very pleasant. Golf Cart is definitely the way to go.
  • S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G This was an amazing tour from start to finish. My guide was so kind and very knowledgable on all the locations visited. She was fun and personable as well. This was such a core memory moment standing where hundreds of thousands stood before me watching gladiators fight to the death and to see the amazing construction of building and monuments that were so old. Makes me wonder why we stopped putting that much heart and soul into building now like they did so long ago
  • Our guide really knows the ins and out of the Colosseum. Had a great time touring around this famous site.
  • Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us so much info,I was mind blown. The Coloseum,Forum and Palatine hill,do the tour guys, you won’t regret it….
  • Silvia was an exceptional guide! Not only was she incredibly personable and animated, but she has her PhD in archeology and knew everything there was to know, even down to what the mortar was made of! She answered all our questions and provided visuals to help us envision what the ruins looked like centuries ago. This was the best way I could have seen these sites!
  • Our tour with City Walks was amazing...such a great experience made even more brilliant by our fab tour guide Amil who was a fountain of knowledge but also entertaining. Favourite part of our trip to Rome
  • Saturday in November, still very busy. This tour takes you round the colosseum then onto the forum and palatine hill. It was good value our guide Marie Luisa was excellent and was keen for us to ask questions. She had pictures of what each place would originally look like to explain it better. She has a microphone they give you a set of ear plugs and a receiver to hear what she was saying. The ear plugs were in ear so take your own with a jack if you have hearing aids. Our group had 21 in it.
  • My mother and I had a wonderful experience with our guide Sylvia. She was extremely knowledgeable with in-depth understanding from an archeologist point of view and very accomodating and nice. We would very much recommend doing this tour with Sylvia!
  • It was amazing how much excavation needed to be done to uncover the old buildings. The doors for some buildings are high, due to excavation. I also enjoyed the information about how old materials had been "recycled" for more modern use.
  • My wife and I did a tour with the extremely knowledgeable Sylvia. What an absolute gem of a person. We wish she could tour us around the whole of Rome. The tour was done at an excellent pace and we were very fortunate with the weather. Her knowledge was second to none and knew the answers to all of our groups questions. Thank you once again! The trip to the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill will not be forgotten any time soon.
  • The tour was great. Our tour guide ambra was amazing very passionate and knowledgeable. She explained everything clearly with the storyline and the sketches she brought with her helped even more.
  • Great tour led by Silvia who shared excellent knowledge, and had continuous passion with her group throughout the tour. We would sign up for one of her tours every time in the future. At the end of the tour she shared a list of her places. I asked her for carbonara recommendation and she shared Osteria Nannarella which we visited today, and she was 100% correct.
  • This saved my Rome trip. I didn't hate Rome, but I'm not huge on just old architecture, churches, and museums. But after this, I was so impressed. There's so much I don't know about the Roman empire. Maybe you know more and won't be as in awe or captivated, but I was. Our guide, Ambra, was fantastic. She explained everything well, she was attentive, she answered all the questions I had just regarding the history I didn't know. Seeing everything is one thing. But understanding what I'm seeing and learning more about it is on another level. It is a ton of walking though which I can usually handle but my lower back was killing me.

  • My tour guide Silvia was amazing so informative and answered each and all our questions. She gave the best photo tips and where to get the best views
  • Our guide Ambera was the best, very knowledgeable and took us at a nice pace through the ruins of the Colosseum
