Claiming EU VAT refunds at European airports.

I am currently at Budapest airport, traveling back to US via Frankfurt. At Budapest airport, after security clearance, before the boarding I found a Tax/refund, Currency exchange office.,
Tax refund is only possible after passport control (after last European airport), so I was directed to file for VAT refund at Frankfurt airport after immigration.

We arrived at Frankfurt Airport Terminal 1 with just 60minutes transfer time between the EU domestic airport and Frankfurt to an onward INTL flight to the States. With very little connecting time, it was very difficult to submit for a VAT tax refund. But do not panic, proceed to Customs at counter numbers 643

If you are visiting Europe and get tempted with good quality clothing and lower currency, then go for it.
At time of payment, just ask for a VAT Tax receipt from the cashier.
Submit the VAT refund receipt at your last EU gateway (usually after customs).
